A senior county official is facing intense scrutiny following allegations of orchestrating an online smear campaign against junior officers and Governor Malombe. The Chief Officer (CO) is accused of collaborating with anti-government WhatsApp groups to discredit the governor and other county officials. Sources within the county, speaking on condition of anonymity, revealed that the CO has been spotted in several secret meetings with individuals responsible for spreading inflammatory content against the governor.
In addition to these allegations, the officer, described as standing four feet tall and weighing around 45 kg, is also under investigation for multiple accusations of sexual harassment by female colleagues. These claims have added to the mounting pressure on the officer, with calls from various county government staff for immediate administrative action.
Despite the growing outcry, many officers fear speaking out publicly due to concerns about potential victimization. However, they insist that decisive steps must be taken to address the alleged misconduct and restore order within the county government.
