Kitui South, May 31, 2024— In a landmark initiative to bolster education among the most vulnerable, Kitui South Member of Parliament, Racheal Nyamai, together with the World Vision manager for Kitui, inaugurated a bursary program valued at 7.4 million shillings.
The launch event, which took place at Kanziko Secondary School, was attended by local leaders, community members, and prospective beneficiaries.This substantial bursary fund is set to be distributed across all wards within Kitui South, focusing on children from the poorest households. The primary goal of this initiative is to ease the financial burdens of education for these families, ensuring that children from disadvantaged backgrounds can access quality education.
During her speech at the event, MP Racheal Nyamai underscored the transformative power of education in breaking the cycle of poverty and advancing community development. “Education is the cornerstone of a brighter future for our children and our community.
This bursary program will offer vital support, enabling our children to pursue their education without the obstacle of financial hardship,” Nyamai stated.The World Vision manager for Kitui echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the organization’s dedication to educational support and community enhancement in the region. “Our collaboration with local leaders like MP Nyamai is essential for reaching the most vulnerable populations and providing them with opportunities for a better future,” the manager remarked.
