Media Personality Betty Kyalo’s beauty parlour, Flair by Betty, has been put up for public auction due to outstanding rent arrears.
According to a public notice published in the dailies, Keysian Auctioneers; which has been selected to oversee the process, said that the shop’s contents will be sold on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 by public auction.
Among the items listed to be auctioned include three 3 dismantled wall shelves, massage bed stand, foot massage, small serving rack, nine pieces of CCTV camera, white shelf with a cabinet stand, Huawei rooter, glass shelf, two pieces of black oval glass partitions, chandaria, coat hanger, hanan shelf, binatone microwave, hanging globe bulbs, top massage stone heater, among other assorted materials.

Other items include TV stand, plastic pink seat, four pieces of small rolling seats, seven pieces of grey seats, four pieces of plastic trolleys, five pieces of green puffs, , office table, black round seat, folding chair, round stool, small glossy table, white cupboard, five pieces of white tables, floor carpet, and wooden stool.
Through her Instagram page, Betty narrated how tough economic conditions in the country have impacted her business. “Running a business in Kenya has become so difficult. Landlords don’t want to reduce rent and it becomes a huge burden on businesses that are struggling because of the economic slowdown. I let it go.”
The auction will be held at Leaky’s Storage Limited along Lunga-Lunga road in Nairobi and the interested individuals will be expected to attend the auction with cash.
