A beneficiary of the Kitui County Textile Centre, located at Syongila, has come forward to dispel various rumours surrounding the factory. The individual claims that the Kitui County senator has never visited the factory and accuses him of neglecting local youth, vowing to challenge him in the 2027 elections.
The beneficiary also raised concerns about the legitimacy of the person who appeared at the Senate as the chairperson of Syongila Youth Polytechnic, asserting they were unknown to local parents and residents.
Syongila residents had earlier conducted public participation before the factory’s construction, giving their approval and agreeing to share the land between the polytechnic and the factory.
Additionally, the senator was accused of frequently opposing the previous county administration and remaining silent on critical issues like medicine shortages, water scarcity, and poor road conditions.
The beneficiary concluded by stating, “You can’t shine by fighting others.”
