Kitui South, June 18, 2024 – Kitui South MP Dr. Racheal Nyamai has announced the resolution of contentious issues surrounding the Finance Bill 2024/25. In a statement today, Dr. Nyamai expressed gratitude to President William Ruto for convening the Kenya Kwanza Parliamentary Group meeting at State House, which facilitated the resolution.
Dr. Nyamai, a prominent ally of President Ruto, confirmed her support for the bill and her intention to vote in favor of it. She underscored the bill’s significance in enabling the president to secure the necessary funds for government operations, emphasizing that tax revenues are crucial for the government’s functionality.
“Without tax revenues, the government cannot operate effectively,” Dr. Nyamai stated, highlighting the bill’s critical role in sustaining essential public services and development projects.
Addressing the recent demonstrations across the country, Dr. Nyamai condemned them as acts of lawlessness rather than legitimate protests. She called on Kenyans to support President Ruto’s administration, stressing the importance of unity and cooperation to ensure effective governance.
“Let us come together to support our president and work towards the prosperity of our nation,” she urged, emphasizing that national cohesion is essential for overcoming challenges and achieving progress.
The Finance Bill 2024/25 is set to be debated in parliament, with expectations that the resolved issues will pave the way for its smooth passage and implementation.
