In line with the H.E President Dr. Willam Ruto’s development meetings as flagged off yesterday, this morning we held a meeting with the Cabinet Secretary Mr. Eliud Owalo of ICT and Digital Economy to discuss developments for our region.
Above all; The Silicon Savanna dream of Konza Techno City remains a key driver in Technology in our country. This will be made a reality in the shortest time possible through the efforts being made by HE The President.
The dream will be achieved through creation of the dual carriage road in part of Mombasa road to reduce road carnage and also for ease of transportation. Additionally, On provision of water to the Konza Techno City; a new water pipeline will be constructed from Mt. Kilimanjaro to Konza.
In my constituency; Kitui south, we have agreed on 6 ICT digital hubs to be constructed (one per ward) where youth will be trained on ICT skills and offered digital jobs.
One state of the art Center of Excellence will be constructed in Kitui south and equipped with the best computers and fully connected to internet.
Ikutha TTI will be connected to free WiFi as part of the effort to expose TTI students to digital jobs and also to benefit other youths within the area. The ministry of ICT also endeavors to connect the major towns in the 6 wards to free WiFi.
