Kitui South Member of Parliament, Dr. Racheal Nyamai, has issued a stern warning to the police for their alleged inaction in pursuing gender-based violence (GBV) cases in Kitui County. Addressing the media from Kanziko ward in Ikutha sub-county, Dr. Nyamai highlighted the prevailing menace affecting the region, particularly in Kitui South.
She expressed concern over reported cases of children from Monguni in ikutha and other case in Ikanga who fell victim to rape by their own biological father.
Kitui south so far is the worst hit when it comes to matters of femicide, child molestation , child Labour. Mp Told the Press.
Dr. Nyamai urged law enforcement to expedite investigations and apprehend the perpetrator swiftly. Kitui South, she emphasized, has borne the brunt of this regressive behavior, and the MP urged the County’s criminal investigation body to handle such cases with utmost decisiveness.
Dr. Racheal Nyamai’s call for action comes amid growing concerns about the rise of gender-based violence, demanding immediate attention and intervention from law enforcement agencies. The MP’s emphasis on the severity of the situation underscores the urgency required to address these distressing incidents and deliver justice to the victims.
