In a recent operation conducted by the Kenyan police in Migori’s Buembu village, a significant seizure of illicit drugs has been reported. Authorities, led by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Kenya, uncovered a staggering 531 kilograms of Cannabis sativa, commonly known as bhang, with an estimated street value of over Ksh 15 million.
The operation, characterized by its stealth and precision, resulted in the apprehension of Molinter Adhiambo Juma, a 26-year-old woman allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade.
The meticulous search, aided by a trained sniffer dog, led to the discovery of nine sacks containing Cannabis sativa sticks and an additional eight sacks filled with the unrefined substance.
However, amidst the commotion, an unidentified male suspect managed to evade capture, fleeing the scene before authorities could apprehend him. The location of the seizure was traced back to the residence of Osege Odhiambo, implicating potential involvement in the illicit drug trade.
This significant bust underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to combat drug trafficking and consumption in the region. The arrest serves as a stark reminder of the persistent challenges posed by narcotics trade and the crucial role of collaborative efforts in addressing such criminal activities.
Authorities remain vigilant in their pursuit of justice, aiming to dismantle drug networks and safeguard communities from the detrimental effects of substance abuse.
